Japan Airlines A350-1000 Returns to Japan After JFK Damage
Japan Airlines’ Airbus A350‑1000, registration JA10WJ, was damaged on 14 December 2025 while parked at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. An Arkia Israeli Airlines A330‑200 being towed struck the A350’s right wing, damaging the left cockpit window and other structures. No passengers were aboard and there were no injuries.
The aircraft underwent repairs under Airbus technical approval in New York, completed a post‑maintenance test flight on 29 July, and was flown back to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport on 31 July, arriving at 22:30 local time. JAL plans to deploy the aircraft on its Tokyo‑London night service, replacing a Boeing 787‑8 on that route.
