Japan Airlines and Takara Tomy announce robot toy collaboration
Japan Airlines (JAL), JALUX, and Takara Tomy have announced a collaboration to release a new transforming robot toy, the ‘Tomica Jobberber TJBDX DX Skybraver JAL Jet Passenger Aircraft’. Scheduled for release in early October 2026, the toy is based on the ‘Tokuso Gattai Robo Jobberber’ anime and toy series.
The approximately 40cm tall robot features a design inspired by JAL’s ‘Tsurumaru’ logo and crane motif. It includes three ‘Jobroid’ figures dressed in detailed JAL uniforms, representing a pilot and two cabin attendants. Unique gimmicks include a suitcase that transforms into a sword and a JAL-branded container that transforms into a shield.
The collaboration will also be featured in the Jobberber anime series, with the JAL-themed robot appearing in three consecutive episodes between October and December. Special promotional videos filmed inside a JAL hangar have also been released.
