Japan Airlines award redemptions suspended by Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific has suspended Japan Airlines (JAL) award redemptions through its Asia Miles loyalty programme until further notice. This restriction prevents members from booking JAL flights using miles and limits the ability to make changes to existing award tickets that include JAL segments. However, confirmed bookings already issued remain valid for travel.

While Cathay Pacific has not provided a specific reason for the suspension, the move affects travelers planning international connections or domestic Japanese journeys via the Asia Miles channel. Passengers booking standard cash fares directly through Japan Airlines are not affected by this change.

Separately, Japan Airlines is running a mileage award sale for Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class flights on select routes. The sale includes destinations such as Guam, Taipei, Europe, and North America, with booking deadlines and travel dates varying by region.
