Japan Airlines schedule change enables free upgrade to A350 suites

A passenger utilizing Finnair Avios for a Japan Airlines business class award flight successfully upgraded their travel experience following a minor five-minute schedule change. By managing the booking through Japan Airlines’ website and subsequently coordinating with Finnair, the traveler was able to change their travel dates, switch their departure airport from Narita to Haneda, and secure seats on the new Airbus A350 suites at no additional cost.

The A350 business class suites feature doors, 78-inch long beds, and 24-inch entertainment screens. The passenger reported that while the schedule change was minimal, it provided the opportunity to access better availability and improved aircraft amenities that were not readily available through standard partner award searches.
