Japan and Fiji strengthen bilateral ties through Lomavata-Kizuna Partnership
Fiji and Japan are deepening their diplomatic and economic relationship through the Lomavata-Kizuna Partnership. This agreement follows a visit to Japan by Fijian Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and aims to enhance engagement across trade, the economy, sports, and tourism.
The partnership emphasizes the concept of ‘kizuna’ (bonds/connections) to strengthen ties between the two nations. Following the arrival of Ambassador Kemueli Naiqama in Japan this February, the relationship has entered a new phase of cooperation, building on existing connections such as the prominent role of Fijian athletes in Japanese rugby.
