Japan anime schools host free student events in August

On August 8, Yoyogi Animation Academy’s Fukuoka campus will hold a traveling open‑campus at Meito Plaza in Saga City. The free event is open to middle‑school students and older and includes voice‑acting, drawing and coloring workshops, as well as individual counseling about courses, curricula and career opportunities in animation, illustration and voice work.

On August 31, DMM pictures will run a student‑focused seminar and networking evening in Tokyo’s Minato ward. The program features voice actor Hiroshi Kamiya and a DMM anime producer, who will explain the anime production‑committee system, revenue streams such as streaming, theatrical releases, overseas sales and merchandise, and offer career advice. A casual reception will allow participants to ask questions about job hunting and industry roles.
