Japan announces pet-friendly Christmas events and dining plans

Various pet-friendly Christmas celebrations and accommodation plans are being announced for the 2026 holiday season in Japan.

Doggy Island in Koya-ryu no Sato will host several seasonal events, including a Christmas tree lighting ceremony on November 28, a Christmas market on December 5 and 6, and special Santa Claus photo opportunities for pet owners and their dogs on December 24 and 25.

On Awaji Island, the villa GRAND CHARIOT Hokuto Shichisei 135° is offering a limited-time Christmas stay package from December 18 to December 25. The plan features a ‘pairing dinner’ where owners and their dogs consume similar ingredients, such as Awaji beef, prepared specifically for each. The experience includes themed room decorations, matching winter accessories for owners and pets, and professional photography services to capture family moments with their animals.
