Japan celebrates autumn with regional festivals and sightseeing

Japan experienced favorable autumn weather during the first day of a three-day weekend, leading to various regional festivals and sightseeing activities.

In Yokohama, the ‘Yokohama Oimo Expo 2026’ at the Red Brick Warehouse featured various sweet potato-based delicacies. In Tokushima Prefecture, visitors frequented the Kazurabashi, a traditional vine bridge, to experience the scenic views.

Other regional highlights included the ‘Shinshu Muscle Festival’ in Nagano, where children participated in tug-of-war matches against muscular performers, and the ‘Okayama Momotaro Festival’ in Okayama City. The latter featured historical reenactments, including firearm demonstrations, set against the backdrop of Okayama Castle.
