Japan Central Horse Racing: Tenno Sho Autumn and Fantasy Stakes

The upcoming weekend of Central Horse Racing in Japan features major graded stakes races held at the Tokyo and Kyoto racecourses.

In Kyoto, the Fantasy Stakes (GIII) will take place on Saturday. This race serves as a key precursor to the Hanshin Juvenile Fillies and features promising two-year-old fillies competing over 1400m on turf. Notable entries for the 2026 running include Felicita, the winner of the Hakodate Nisai Stakes, and Imogen.

On Sunday, the Tenno Sho (Autumn) (GI) will be held at Tokyo Racecourse. As one of the most prestigious middle-distance races, it requires a combination of high speed and stamina on the 2000m turf course. The event is a cornerstone of the autumn racing season, drawing top-tier horses from the mile to middle-distance categories.
