Japan citizens receive commendations for life-saving rescues
Various individuals across Japan have received official commendations for their roles in emergency rescue efforts.
In Miyakonojo, Mayor Yoshinaga Ikeda presented letters of appreciation to three employees from two construction companies. The individuals were recognized for their rapid coordination in rescuing a young boy who had fallen into the Oyodo River.
In Hiroshima, university student Kaede Oda received a police commendation for assisting a woman in her 70s suffering from heatstroke. Utilizing training from a previous lifesaving course, Oda performed chest compressions until emergency responders arrived, helping the woman survive.
In Kitaakita City, the local fire department honored two junior high school students, Hiyori Ishikawa and Emika Misawa. The students were recognized for their quick response and assistance in the emergency transport of an elderly man who had fallen on the street.
