Japan consumer survey: 74.5% view randoseru purchases as a necessary investment
A joint survey conducted by NEXER Group and Lara-chan Randoseru among 200 respondents in Japan reveals that 74.5% of people view the purchase of a randoseru (school bag) as a ‘necessary investment.’
While 64% of respondents stayed within their initial budget, 36% reported exceeding it. For those who went over budget, the primary reason for satisfaction was ‘quality and durability’ (65.3%), followed by the child’s happiness (54.2%) and design (47.2%).
Regarding the perceived difference between expensive and inexpensive bags, 76.5% of respondents felt their perception did not change after purchase. Those who did notice a difference cited improvements in weight, functionality, and craftsmanship, while others noted that higher prices do not always guarantee better suitability or value.
