Japan defeats China in women's team table tennis final

Japan's women's table tennis team secured a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory against China in the team finals at the 2026 Asian Table Tennis Championships in Uzbekistan.

After Japan's Hashimoto Honoka opened with a 3-0 win over Chen Yi, China leveled the score through Wang Yidi and Kuai Man. However, the momentum shifted when Miwa Harimoto defeated Chen Yi 3-0 to force a deciding match. Hashimoto Honoka ultimately secured the championship for Japan by defeating Wang Yidi 3-1. This marks the second time in a single month that Japan has defeated China in a major table tennis final, following their victory at the Asiad.
