Japan energy-saving consulting market projected to reach $1.9 billion by 2036
Japan's energy-saving consulting market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.8% from 2026 to 2036, reaching an estimated value of $1.9 billion by the end of that period. This expansion is driven by the nation's Green Transformation (GX) policies and increasing demand from manufacturing, commercial, and infrastructure sectors to reduce carbon emissions and operational costs.
Key growth drivers include the integration of renewable energy, data-driven energy management using AI and IoT, and the rising importance of energy audits and decarbonization planning. The market is also seeing increased activity in the building sector, supported by residential energy-saving programs.
In support of these trends, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Hokkaido Bureau is organizing seminars for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Sapporo and Obihiro. These sessions aim to help business owners address management challenges, such as rising energy prices and labor shortages, through practical energy-saving measures and GX promotion.
