Japan expands foreign recruitment through ASEAN and regional job fairs

Japanese organizations are expanding recruitment efforts to secure foreign talent amid a shrinking domestic workforce. In Aichi Prefecture, the ‘Aichi Foreign Student Festa 2027’ is seeking participating companies for its Job Fair. This event aims to connect international students with local businesses in the Chubu region.

Simultaneously, Energize Co., Ltd. has announced the 15th ‘ASEAN CAREER FAIR with JAPAN 2027’, scheduled for February 20, 2027, at the Singapore EXPO. The fair targets students and young professionals from the ASEAN region to address Japan’s labor shortages caused by an aging population. While domestic foreign worker numbers have reached record highs, these initiatives represent a strategic shift toward direct overseas recruitment to secure specialized and multilingual human resources.
