Japan fireworks festivals feature massive displays and drone shows
Major fireworks festivals concluded their summer seasons in Japan with large-scale displays and technological integrations.
In Oita City, the Oita ‘Yume’ Fireworks event featured a display of approximately 8,000 fireworks shells. The event was augmented by a drone show involving roughly 1,300 drones, sponsored by Otsuka Pharmaceutical, which included a synchronized sing-along of the song ‘Ai wa Katsu’ by KAN.
In Akita Prefecture, the 98th National Fireworks Competition, ‘Omagari no Hanabi,’ took place in Daisen City on August 29. The competition featured a massive display of 18,000 fireworks shells and drew large crowds of spectators from across the country.
