Japan food service sector focuses on school lunch efficiency and hygiene management
The Japan Frozen Food Association, in collaboration with Kyoiku Katei Shinbunsha, held a seminar in Chiba Prefecture focused on addressing challenges in school lunches through the use of frozen foods. The event, attended by nutrition teachers, educators, and university faculty, highlighted how frozen foods can maintain nutritional value, ensure hygiene, and improve cooking efficiency in school kitchens.
Separately, Fuji Sangyo Co., Ltd. presented research at the 53rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Infection Control and Prevention regarding asymptomatic carriers in group catering. The study analyzed the occurrence of asymptomatic carriers of bacteria and norovirus within their food service operations. While no clear causal link was found between individual characteristics and infection, the research confirmed that the company’s existing preventive measures are effective in preventing food poisoning incidents.
