Japan football coaches discuss tactical preparation for Kirin Cup 2026
Japan national football team coaches Shunsuke Nakamura and Toshihide Saito recently spoke at a JFA event commemorating the Kirin Cup Soccer 2026. The coaches discussed the intensive behind-the-scenes work required to support the national team, including the detailed video analysis and tactical preparation used to communicate strategies to players.
Coach Saito noted that creating analytical videos can sometimes require working until 2:00 or 3:00 AM. Nakamura shared his own learning process regarding technical tools, emphasizing that while the animation and analysis work can be enjoyable, the ultimate goal is ensuring the information is effectively communicated to the players to maximize team performance.
The coaches expressed their commitment to preparing the team for the upcoming Kirin Cup, which begins on October 1 in Yokohama with a match against Ecuador.
