Japan goalkeeper Keisuke Osako departs Sanfrecce Hiroshima for overseas transfer

Sanfrecce Hiroshima announced on July 30 that goalkeeper Keisuke Osako, the 27‑year‑old Japan national‑team player, has been removed from the squad as the club prepares for his transfer to an overseas club. The club said the move is part of the necessary procedural and preparatory steps and that further details will be released once the transfer is finalized.

Osako, a native of Kagoshima, rose through Hiroshima’s youth system, joined the senior team in 2018 and earned his senior international debut in 2019. He represented Japan at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and was a member of the squad for the recent World Cup, later being named to the J1 Best Eleven for 2024. The club also noted that fans who have ordered his name‑and‑number jerseys cannot cancel or receive refunds.
