Japan Golf Tour prepares for JT Cup finale and player-led tournament

The Japan Golf Tour is preparing for several key upcoming events. The season finale, the Golf Japan Series JT Cup, will be held from December 3 to 6 at the Tokyo Yomiuri Country Club. This year marks a significant transition as the annual ranking system has shifted from prize money to a points-based system. Officials noted that heavy rainfall since September has resulted in deeper rough, which is expected to increase the difficulty of the course and make fairway accuracy a decisive factor in the competition.

Defending champion Takashi Ogiso expressed his determination to defend his title despite struggling with a bone fracture sustained in March. Meanwhile, the Fortinet Players Cup, a tournament organized by the players' association, is scheduled for October 22 to 25 at Narita Hills Country Club. Players' association president Miraiya Akutsu emphasized efforts to improve fan engagement through better signage, improved autograph sessions, and enhanced interaction zones to boost the popularity of the men's professional tour.
