Japan hosts lectures on parenting communication and picture book benefits
Various educational lectures in Japan are focusing on child development and effective communication between parents and children.
In Tateyama, Asami Kato, a certified parenting instructor and representative of the 'Kakehashi' support group, held a lecture titled ‘How to Speak to Reach a Child’s Heart’. The session taught parents how to express their feelings without emotional outbursts, suggesting that using ‘I’ statements helps children think independently and reduces resistance to behavioral changes.
In Nishinomiya, Erii Yamano, a director at the Picture Book Future Creation Organization, is scheduled to host a lecture titled ‘The Power of Picture Books to Develop the Mind and Brain’. The event aims to show adults how picture books can serve as a foundation for emotional intelligence and mental richness in an era of rapid technological change.
