Japan hosts transportation career experience events
Various career-themed experiential events for families are being held in Japan to foster interest in the transportation industry.
Hokusō Railway has announced its fourth C-Flyer parent-child driving experience event, scheduled for October 18, 2026. The program allows pairs consisting of one elementary school student and one adult to operate a 9100 series train for approximately 25 minutes. Participants can also engage in conductor training, including making in-car announcements and operating emergency communication devices. Applications open on September 18, 2026, on a first-come, first-served basis.
In Akita City, the ‘Waku Waku Tra-Venture’ event took place on September 13, allowing participants to experience the work of truck drivers. Families participated in delivery simulations, such as transporting cardboard packages to local stores and managing the loading process. The event aimed to deepen public understanding of the logistics and trucking industry.
