Japan implements emergency measures and relief funds following heavy rain disasters

Following heavy rainfall on July 17-18, 2026, the Japan Post Group has announced emergency measures for residents in areas where the Disaster Relief Act has been applied. These special provisions will be available through Japan Post, Japan Post Bank, and Kanpo Life Insurance.

Additionally, the Japanese Red Cross Society has launched a fundraising campaign for the ‘August 2026 Chiba Heavy Rain Disaster Relief Fund’. Donations will be accepted from August 21 to November 30, 2026, through various banking institutions including Japan Post Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, MUFG Bank, and Mizuho Bank. All collected funds will be allocated to the disaster area's relief distribution committee to support local recovery efforts.
