Japan Inter-High High School Sports: Archery Team 12th, Karate Individual Medalists Announced

Kokugakuin High School’s archery club, represented by third‑year Daibu Hiroaki, advanced through the preliminaries, semifinals and final of the national Inter‑High archery competition and finished 12th overall, narrowly missing a podium spot. The team will compete again on 23 August at the Kanto Block tournament.

The 53rd Inter‑High karate championships were held from 6–9 August at the Hyogo Prefectural Budokan in Himeji. On 8 August, the individual kumite finals featured men’s finalists Suzuki Aisho (Japan Airlines) and Kakezono Koya (Kyoai Gakuen), and women’s finalists Karikomi Waka (Takamatsu Chuo) and Nishimura Maria (Saibi). Third‑place finishers were Ogawa Takeshi and Tanaka Yota for the men, and Otaki Kiriko and Nakamura Jina for the women.
