Japan introduces Do Hiemon Box cooling cabin for workers

A Japanese company, SDRS, has developed the Do Hiemon Box, an individual cooling cabin designed to combat extreme temperatures. The device, which is roughly the size of a vending machine, features an internal seat and provides a rapid cooling effect by directing 5°C air streams toward the user's head, neck, shoulders, and back.

The system maintains an internal temperature of approximately 15°C and includes three levels of airflow and cooling. To prevent excessive cooling, the unit automatically shuts off after 20 minutes of use. Designed for mobility, the cabin is equipped with wheels, making it suitable for construction sites, factories, warehouses, and outdoor events where cooling an entire environment is impractical.

The Do Hiemon Box is priced at approximately 1.5 million yen (roughly $9,400 USD) and is primarily aimed at businesses and organizations. The product began commercialization in April 2026 and has already seen installations in public spaces, including a unit donated to the Maebashi City Hall.
