Japan launches initiatives to support female entrepreneurs
Multiple initiatives are being launched in Japan to support female entrepreneurship and foster economic growth through specialized networking and training events.
In September 2026, Shinagawa City and the Musashi Koyama Entrepreneurship Support Center will host the ‘Next Stage: Women Entrepreneurs’ Challenge! ~Women’s Empowerment Summit Shinagawa~’ at the Tokyo Innovation Base. The event features business pitches from five female entrepreneurs, a cross-talk session involving the Mayor of Shinagawa, and presentations from African female entrepreneurs and officials participating in JICA training programs. The summit aims to provide role models and networking opportunities for women looking to start or grow businesses.
Additionally, as part of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s ‘GIRAFFES JAPAN’ project, Pasona Group will host a hybrid event in Saitama on September 2, 2026. This initiative, designed to support female entrepreneurs through community-based assistance, includes panel sessions with experienced entrepreneurs and support agencies. The program offers guidance on applying for the GIRAFFES JAPAN project, including workshops on writing entry sheets and individual consultation sessions to help women transition from interest to active business ownership.
