Japan launches new Hinoyama Park campground and special summer sessions at Yamanaka Campground

The Yamanaka Campground in Saga City’s Mitsue Village will operate a three‑day special summer session from August 12 to 14, 2026, supplementing its regular weekend and holiday schedule. The site offers tent plots and a log‑house that accommodates 5‑6 guests, with fees of ¥2,000 per tent plot per night and ¥3,000‑¥5,000 for the log‑house. Reservations are required by phone and payment is cash‑only.

In Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, the Hinoyama Park redevelopment project will open the new Hinoyama‑mountain‑base campground on September 19. The 11,600‑square‑meter site features 22 campsites—including powered vehicle spots, family sites and single‑person sites—plus rental equipment, a sanitary building and parking for 17 cars. Fees range from ¥1,100 to ¥5,500 for day‑use and ¥3,300 to ¥5,500 for overnight stays. The project, costing about ¥480 million, is managed by the city and includes future plans for a gondola and additional visitor facilities. Mayor Shintaro Maeda highlighted the campground as a “third arrow” to attract visitors to the area’s natural scenery and the Kanmon Strait view.
