Japan launches new summer anime episodes of 'The Saga of Tanya the Evil' and 'Red River
The second season of the military‑fantasy series “The Saga of Tanya the Evil” (幼女戦記II) will begin airing on July 15, 2026. Episode 2, titled “Strange Friendship,” shows the newly formed Salamander Combat Unit suffering from guerrilla attacks on its supply lines. The plot follows modern girl Yūri, summoned to the ancient Hittite empire, who is hidden as a consort of Prince Kail and becomes the war‑goddess Ishtar. The series airs on Nippon TV’s AnichU block and BS Niconico, with additional broadcast details provided.
