Japan launches training programs to promote BIM/CIM adoption

Various organizations in Japan are launching training programs to promote the adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Construction Information Modeling (CIM) within the construction and architectural sectors.

In Nagano Prefecture, hands-on workshops will be held in October at three locations: Matsumoto, Nagano City, and Iida. These free sessions, available both in-person and online, are designed for beginners and those with limited 3D CAD experience to learn basic software operations. Applications for the Nagano workshops close on September 11.

Additionally, the Japan Federation of Architects & Building Engineers Associations, supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, is offering a free online course. This program focuses on helping small to medium-sized architectural firms make informed decisions regarding BIM implementation by analyzing costs, effects, and risks. The online modules are designed to be short, allowing professionals to learn systematically through video content.
