Japan national football team faces roster changes and stadium access issues

Miyagi Governor Yoshihiro Murai addressed significant traffic congestion issues following a Japan national football team match against Uruguay at Q&A Stadium Miyagi. Despite measures such as temporary parking and park-and-ride initiatives, some attendees reported waiting up to two and a half hours to exit parking areas.

During a press conference, Murai compared the situation to a 2015 concert by the group Arashi, noting that despite a larger crowd, that event experienced minimal congestion due to superior organizational expertise. He emphasized the need to transfer logistical know-how from large-scale event organizers to football associations to improve future access.

Separately, the Japan Football Association announced several roster changes for the national team due to injuries and club commitments. Defender Tsuyoshi Watanabe has withdrawn due to injury, with Henry Kaito Mochizuki from FC Machida Zelvia called up as a replacement. Other departures include Ryunosuke Sato and Tomoya Ando, adding to the squad's defensive challenges.
