Japan national football team players receive call-ups

Japan national football team players Kento Shiobayashi and Kugi Matsuki have received attention following their call-ups for upcoming international fixtures.

Kento Shiobayashi, a forward currently playing for Wolfsburg, expressed gratitude on social media after receiving a surprise message from All Nippon Airways (ANA) staff during his flight back to Japan. The ANA staff provided a plate featuring the Japan Football Association logo and a message of support. Shiobayashi is expected to feature in the team's upcoming series of matches against Uruguay, Venezuela, and Ecuador.

Meanwhile, Southampton manager Toni Eckert has voiced strong confidence in midfielder Kugi Matsuki following his first call-up to the national team. Eckert praised Matsuki's versatility and competitive nature, stating he is confident the player can achieve double-digit goals this year. Matsuki, who moved to Southampton from FC Tokyo, has become a regular fixture in the squad under Eckert's management.
