Japan national teams prepare for major international championships

Japanese national teams across multiple disciplines are preparing for major international competitions.

In women's volleyball, the national team secured the top spot in their group at the Asian Championship in Tianjin, China, following a dominant performance against Vietnam. 20-year-old Misora Akimoto stood out in her first start, contributing nine points. In men's handball, the 'Comet JAPAN' team announced its roster for the second intensive training camp held in Tokyo. The 18-member squad is preparing for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, where they will aim for the gold medal.
