Japan offers subsidies for overseas waste‑recycling and agri‑tech projects

The Japanese Ministry of the Environment, via the Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Waste & 3R Research Foundation, has opened applications for the Resource Circulation Decarbonisation Promotion Project. The scheme provides up to ¥44 million per applicant and covers half of eligible costs (two‑thirds for small‑and‑medium enterprises) for feasibility studies of waste‑treatment and recycling projects carried out abroad, especially in JCM and AZEC partner countries. Applications run from 14 April to 30 November 2026.

Separately, Value Frontier Inc. reports that a Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry grant under the Global South Future‑Oriented Co‑Creation program funded a pilot to digitise Vietnamese agriculture. Japanese cloud‑based accounting and crop‑history software, adapted for cooperatives in the Mekong Delta, was deployed together with Solimachi Co., Ltd. The project includes training, satellite‑analysis for carbon‑credit generation and a new basic agreement with the Vietnamese government, aiming to cut greenhouse‑gas emissions and improve farm profitability.
