Japan officially designates September 9 as Attack on Titan Day

The Japan Anniversary Association has officially recognized September 9 as ‘Attack on Titan Day’. The date marks the anniversary of the manga series by Hajime Isayama, which first debuted in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine on September 9, 2009.

To celebrate the designation, several commemorative events and promotions are planned. The manga platform Magazine Pocket will offer the first 99 chapters for free for a 99-hour period. Additionally, new merchandise featuring original illustrations by Isayama of characters Eren, Levi, and Erwin in formal attire will be released.

A special livestream is scheduled for the evening of September 9, featuring Japanese voice actors Yuuki Kaji, Yui Ishikawa, and Hiro Shimono. The broadcast is expected to share new information regarding the franchise.
