Japan Opens New Beach Facilities for Summer 2026

The city of Akashi in Hyōgo Prefecture will open the Daizō Coast beach on July 18, 2026, running through August 30. The site now includes upgraded amenities such as shower rooms, restrooms, a baby‑room with nursing sofas and diaper‑changing stations, and baby‑beds in the gender‑specific showers, aiming to make the beach more family‑friendly.

In Shizuoka Prefecture, Ito City will also open three seaside sites on July 18, 2026: Ito Orange Beach, Usami Beach and Kawanai Iruka Beach. Each location will have a monitoring station operating from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., parking facilities, and nearby attractions such as a water‑park, calm sandbars and clear‑water fishing spots. The openings are scheduled to run until late August, providing expanded recreational options for the summer season.
