Japan opens new ramen shop in Sano while Yokkaichi eateries are demolished
A new ramen restaurant, 佐野らーめんと炒めし 一 (はじめ), opened on 11 June 2026 in Sano City, Tochigi Prefecture, taking over the former Ichirota location near the prefectural office and the "Kodomono Kuni" park. The owner, trained in ramen and Chinese cuisine, highlighted a menu aimed at attracting local fans.
In Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, demolition work began in June 2026 on the former sites of the miso‑ramen shop 麺場 田所商店, which closed on 30 December 2025, and the bakery 乃が美はなれ, which closed on 8 March 2026. The dismantling, scheduled from 18 May to 17 July, has left the area fenced off as the properties are cleared for future use.
