Japan pharmacy education events draw students and families

On July 30‑31, Toyama North High School hosted the National Pharmacy Education Research Council’s student research presentation conference. Twenty‑one students from four schools in Toyama, Shiga and Nara visited the “Drug City” of Toyama, toured a MAE pharmaceutical plant, and participated in hands‑on workshops on drug preparation and herbal medicine.

On August 2, Kyoto City held a “Pharmacy Fest” at the Kyoto Sangyo Kaikan, where about 700 parent‑child groups experienced mock prescriptions, dispensing and medication counseling. The event was organized by the region’s largest pharmacy chain, which operates 108 stores across Kyoto and Shiga, aiming to introduce pharmacy work to the public.

Both events were designed to promote pharmacy education and community awareness of medication practices in Japan.
