On July 15, police in Miyagi Prefecture arrested an unemployed man in his 80s after he shouted threats, including “I want to kill you,” at a woman he knew inside a building in the city of Tome. He admitted the allegations.

On July 14, police in Miyazaki Prefecture arrested four individuals – a 22‑year‑old man, a 21‑year‑old woman and two teenage boys – accused of non‑consensual sexual assault and causing injuries to a teenage girl in a public square in Kadogawa town in April.
