Japan police report multiple arrests for hit-and-run and assault

Several criminal incidents and arrests have been reported across Japan. In Tokyo, 36-year-old bar owner Takuya Miura was arrested on suspicion of abandoning the body of his 25-year-old partner in the mountains of Miyagi Prefecture. The victim's body was discovered on October 4 after her mother reported her missing. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, noting that both parties had previously reported incidents of physical violence.

In Chiba Prefecture, 43-year-old Tomoo Nagashima was arrested for a hit-and-run in Inzai City. He is accused of striking a 6-year-old girl while driving through a crosswalk on October 1, causing serious injuries, and fleeing the scene.

In Hokkaido, a 23-year-old unemployed man was re-arrested in Hakodate for non-consensual indecent assault. The suspect, who was already in custody for a separate theft case involving approximately 930,000 yen in cash and jewelry, is accused of attacking a woman in a parking lot in August. He has denied the charges.

Additionally, police in Nagoya are investigating a hit-and-run involving a white vehicle that struck a man in his 30s on a levee road in Nishi Ward, leaving him seriously injured.
