Japan private schools announce social studies hiring; Gunma school opens 2027 admissions
The Japanese Private Education Research Institute has compiled a list of social studies teaching positions available at private middle and high schools in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba and Saitama. As of the afternoon of 29 July 2026, 57 schools across the four prefectures are recruiting teachers, with application deadlines ranging from early August to the end of October.
Separately, the Gunma Prefectural Board of Education released the 2027 admission schedule for Gunma Prefectural Central Middle School. The school will accept 120 students (60 male, 60 female) via a web‑based application system that opens on 16 November and closes on 15 December. Applicants must pay fees online, download test tickets, and attend aptitude tests and interviews on 23 January. Results will be announced on 3 February, with subsequent enrollment steps outlined through early February.
Both announcements reflect ongoing efforts to manage staffing and student intake across Japan's private and public secondary education sectors.
