Japan promotes breast cancer awareness through corporate support and Sunday screenings
Various initiatives in Japan are promoting breast cancer awareness and early detection through the Pink Ribbon Movement.
Sumitomo Rubber Industries (Dunlop) has announced its support for the movement during October, which is Pink Ribbon Month. The company's tire division will participate in motorsport events, such as the 2026 AUTOBACS SUPER GT Round 7 in Oita Prefecture, by displaying pink Dunlop logos and providing information on self-checks and regular screenings. Additionally, Dunlop Home Products continues its long-standing '1 PAIR for 1 LOVE' campaign, donating a portion of sales from its natural rubber gloves to support the cause.
In coordination with the NPO J. POSH, the 'Japan Mammography Sunday' has been scheduled for October 18, 2026. This initiative aims to make screenings more accessible for women who are busy during weekdays by promoting Sunday mammography appointments at medical institutions across the country. The program focuses on increasing breast awareness and encouraging regular check-ups to improve early detection and treatment outcomes.
