Japan railway information: Hokuriku, Tokyu Shin-Yokohama, and Tohoku Shinkansen details
Various Japanese railway services provide specific transit information for travelers. At Tokyo Station, the Hokuriku Shinkansen operates from platforms 20 to 23 on the second floor. Passengers should use the Shinkansen North or South transfer gates on the first floor of the Yaesu side to access these platforms. These tracks are shared with the Tohoku, Joetsu, and other Shinkansen lines.
The Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line, which opened in March 2023, connects Shin-Yokohama to Hiyoshi over a distance of 5.8 km. It serves as a link between central Kanagawa, Tokyo, and Saitama, with connections to the Tokaido Shinkansen and the Sotetsu Shin-Yokohama Line.
The Tohoku Shinkansen connects Tokyo to Shin-Aomori, featuring several service types including the Hayabusa, Yamabiko, and Nasuno. Some services provide through-running connections to the Hokkaido Shinkansen, with the Hayabusa reaching speeds of 320 km/h.
