Japan Railways Group announces unlimited autumn rail pass

Japan Railways Group has announced the Aki no Norihodai Pass, a new unlimited-ride rail pass designed for autumn travel. The pass provides three full days of unlimited rides on JR regular and rapid (kaisoku) trains across any JR line in Japan, without regional restrictions.

While the pass does not cover express or special express trains, including the Shinkansen, it does include unlimited rides on JR-managed BRT highway buses. For travelers heading to Hokkaido, an optional Hokkaido Shinkansen ticket is available to allow a one-time ride between Shin Aomori and Kikonai Stations.

The pass is priced at 7,850 yen (approximately US$49) for adults and 3,920 yen for children. The initiative aims to encourage travelers to explore less crowded, off-the-beaten-path areas of the country during the autumn season.
