Japan rental housing management: renewal training and new exam courses

The National Federation of Real Estate Transaction Associations (Zentaku) has announced that registration for renewal training for designated Rental Housing Management Business Managers will open on October 1, 2026. This training is intended for those whose certification expires on March 31, 2027. Because these certifications are valid for five years, renewal is mandatory for individuals wishing to continue working in the role.

In a related development for the sector, Tokyo Oya Juku has launched a new comprehensive exam preparation course for the national Rental Real Estate Manager qualification on the Udemy platform. The course uses a narrative-driven approach, following the management cycle of an apartment building to teach legal, structural, and administrative requirements. The curriculum includes approximately 10.5 hours of video content, multiple quizzes, and two full-length mock exams to assist candidates in navigating the complex exam topics.
