Japan reports drunk driving arrests and railway service disruption
Several incidents involving traffic violations and accidents were reported in Japan. In Fukuoka City, a 61-year-old self-employed man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving a three-wheeled motorcycle after police observed him leaving a convenience store with a flushed face.
In Kyoto, a 28-year-old man was arrested for dangerous driving resulting in injury and failure to render aid. He allegedly struck a utility pole while driving under the influence in Fushimi Ward, causing serious spinal injuries to a 42-year-old passenger before fleeing the scene.
Additionally, service on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line was suspended between Shin-Tanabe and Kintetsu Miizue stations following a personnel accident occurring near Oko Station on August 23.
