Japan rolls out regional tourism promotions including White Road drive campaign and Gunma stamp rally
The Kagari Kichijōtei hot‑spring inn in Ishikawa Prefecture is offering a travel package to celebrate the full opening of the 33.3 km White Road scenic drive linking Ishikawa and Gifu. From now until 31 Oct 2026, guests staying at the inn receive a free one‑way toll (¥1,700 for regular cars, ¥1,400 for kei cars) and a ¥2,000 gasoline voucher, plus a guidebook of local hot‑spring walks. The promotion includes a two‑meal plan, unlimited drinks and additional amenities such as a complimentary on‑site hot‑spring bath.
Meanwhile, Gunma Prefecture’s “Kanna‑Kobura∞Gurubura Travel Stamp Rally” runs from 4 July to 30 Nov 2026. Visitors collect stamps at selected road stations, museums, parks and heritage sites across the prefecture, including the UNESCO World Heritage site Tajima Ginza and the Gunma Safari Park. Participants entered into a lottery for prizes such as paired hot‑spring stays; a total of 430 winners will be drawn. The rally aims to boost local tourism by encouraging exploration of the region’s attractions.
