Japan schedules national high school karate and go championships in August 2026

The 53rd National High School Karate Championship will take place from August 3 to 6, 2026. The combination draw and opening ceremony are set for August 4 at the Hyogo Prefectural Budokan training room and will be streamed live on the Japan Karate Federation's YouTube channel (JKF CHANNEL). The tournament draw was released on July 4, and a DVD of the event is planned for later release.

The 50th Minister of Education Cup National High School Go Championship was held from August 3 to 5, 2026 at the Japan Go Institute in Tokyo. In the team finals on August 4, Nanda High School (Hyogo) won the boys' team title, while Minami High School Girls' Team (Aichi) captured the girls' title. The competition featured up to eight schools per gender, with detailed rankings for both boys and girls reported.
