Japan schedules summer community and school open day events

A series of outdoor and indoor activities for families has been announced in Nishinomiya, Hyōgo Prefecture. Events include pattern‑art leaf drawing at the city’s forest park on July 19, custom hair‑band making at Ebista on July 22, puppet‑making workshops, a children’s sports experience on July 26, tea‑ceremony classes for youngsters, a water‑rocket competition on July 26‑August 2, and an interactive morning‑glory installation at Nishinomiya Hankyu through early August. Most events require prior reservation and have modest fees.

At the same time, a dozen middle‑school and high‑school institutions in the Tokyo metropolitan area are holding open‑house sessions ahead of the upcoming entrance examinations. Schools such as Otsuma, Kanagawa University Affiliated, Kakusei Gakuen, Sakae‑Higashi, Shiba International, Tokyo Agricultural University First High School, and others will host school tours, lecture previews, and hands‑on classes from July 18‑20. Participation is limited and must be booked in advance. These programs aim to give prospective students and their parents a direct view of curricula, facilities, and admission procedures.
