Japan seasonal autumn updates in confectionery and horticulture

Various Japanese businesses and institutions have announced seasonal offerings and updates for the autumn period.

Shinsho-in in Hachioji has introduced autumn menu items, including a special matcha zenzai and seasonal fruit desserts. The temple also noted upcoming events related to the autumn equinox (Higan).

Yoreiken, a confectionery in Kyoto, is preparing for the autumn Higan festival by offering traditional ohagi with various fillings such as red bean, white bean, and matcha. They are also featuring seasonal fruit daifuku.

In the horticultural sector, Kan-engei has commenced its autumn shipments, featuring plants such as Heart Queen, Burgundy Sunset, and Black Tail, noting that colors will deepen as temperatures drop.
