Japan survey shows 83% of adults feel decline in physical strength

A survey conducted by Cross Marketing involving 1,100 men and women aged 20 to 69 in Japan reveals that 82.9% of respondents feel their physical strength has declined compared to five years ago. On a scale where five years ago is 100, the current average physical strength level is rated at 73.04.

Common indicators of declining strength include fatigue lasting several days and difficulty sleeping. For those in their 40s, lingering fatigue is a primary concern, while individuals in their 50s and 60s more frequently report shortness of breath after climbing stairs.

Only 37.5% of respondents actively practice methods to maintain or recover their physical strength. Common exercise-based approaches include using stairs and walking, jogging, or running. Non-exercise methods favored by respondents include maintaining hydration, ensuring sufficient sleep, and eating balanced meals, with older age groups showing a higher tendency to prioritize these lifestyle habits.
