Logistics leaders in Chile and Peru prioritize port digitalization and infrastructure

Regional authorities and industry leaders in Chile and Peru are focusing on modernizing logistics and infrastructure to boost competitiveness. In Chile, the ENLOCE 2026 summit in Valparaíso highlighted the urgent need for digital integration within the port system. Experts emphasized that competitiveness now depends on the ability to connect ports with land transport, railways, and real-time data sharing to improve cargo traceability and operational efficiency.

In the Biobío region of Chile, industry executives from Ultramar, ARAUCO, and Puertos Talcahuano called for increased collaboration between public and private sectors to close infrastructure gaps and attract more cargo.

In Peru, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) is coordinating with the Association for the Promotion of National Infrastructure (AFIN) to accelerate strategic projects. Efforts are focused on addressing restrictions in the port, airport, road, and telecommunications sectors, including the creation of technical tables to resolve bottlenecks and the development of logistical corridors to improve port efficiency.
